NFL and NBA Merchandise among Items Stolen From Flight 93 Fundraiser

The fundraiser will go on after burglars broke into an Akron, OH office building which was storing items meant to be auctioned off to raise money for the Flight 93 memorial.

The burglary occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning when thieves put a hole through the drywall and entered the room, according to an article on pittsburghlive.com.

A number of items were stolen including autographed sports memorabilia such as a signed Jerome Bettis football and LeBron James basketball.

Also stolen were 30 gift cards, wine, cash, jewelry, a credit card, digital camera equipment, and seven silver Flight 93 medallions (http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/regional/s_712941.html).

The medallions were among sixty made, distributed to those who lost loved ones on the flight and to President Bush and his wife, along with Dick Cheney.

According to the site, the medallions depict Pennsylvania’s mountains and the bald eagle, as well as the names of all those on Flight 93 that day.

Road Scholar Transport has worked with the HALO Foundation to commemorate the victims of Flight 93 with our Flight 93 awareness trailer, featuring the names of all 40 on board.
